FAQs
Is therapy similar to talking to a friend?

Opening up to a trusted friend can be comforting and supportive, but talking to a professional counsellor offers a deeper, more structured path to healing and growth. While friends provide empathy and companionship, they often offer advice based on their own experiences or personal perspectives. A counsellor, on the other hand, takes an objective stance and drawing on psychotherapeutic theories and research offers insights tailored to your unique situation.

Therapy provides a safe, non-judgmental space where your thoughts and emotions are explored with professional guidance. As a counsellor I don’t just listen—I can help you recognize patterns, process difficult emotions and support you develop your self-awareness.

In therapy, you don’t have to worry about burdening someone with your struggles or holding back for fear of judgment. It is your space, a place to freely express your thoughts and emotions in whatever way feels right for you.
